Calls to the Harlingen Area Crime Stoppers tip line are received through a stand-alone phone with no caller ID and no recording capabilities, ensuring complete anonymity.

The Coordinator documents the information, conducts brief checks, and forwards it to the proper investigating officer. Calls may involve any publicized case, such as the “Crime of the Week,” or any other crime the caller knows about.

By guaranteeing anonymity and offering cash rewards for tips leading to arrests or indictments, Crime Stoppers encourages citizens to share information without fear of retribution.

Tipsters can now submit tips online through a secure and anonymous system—an effective and safe way to communicate with us in today’s digital world.

Our online tip process, powered by Anderson Software, features a two-way dialog that allows tipsters to add more information later and enables coordinators to ask follow-up questions or share reward details—all through the same secure, encrypted platform.
P3 App Tips
With the P3 Tips App by Anderson Software, tipsters can use any iOS or Android device to share crime-solving information, upload photos or videos, and communicate directly with Crime Stoppers—all while remaining completely anonymous.

The app’s secure two-way dialog allows tipsters to add new details, check the status of their tip, or receive reward updates, while giving Crime Stoppers the ability to ask follow-up questions—all through a fully encrypted and confidential system.
